New Chevrolet Tahoe ZR2 Could Mean High Performance Off-Roading to the SUV World
Sometimes, when we take a look at things that are offered in the automotive world, we just can’t help but connect the dots and wonder why certain ideas haven’t come to life yet.
For example, Chevrolet has already brought to life the ZR2 package. Essentially, this is a collection of features like meatier tires, more ground clearance with a trick suspension, and certain design choices that look more aggressive and might be more conducive for off-roading activities.
However, the one thing that we couldn’t help but notice is that this package is currently limited to just pickup trucks. Why not let it fly and give the Chevrolet Tahoe the ZR2 off-roader treatment?
While that might just be a very real possibility in the future. This time, we check in with YouTube creator, Brian Mello, who talks a little bit about the Tahoe and why General Motors might decide that eventually, it’s time to apply what it has learned with its trucks to the SUV. At the end of the day, as the Tahoe and Silverado are built on familiar architecture, it likely wouldn’t require all that much additional engineering to share the ZR2 trim level between the two.
Below, our host takes us along for a tour of his very own rendition of what a Tahoe ZR2 might look like should it be released in the coming years. At the end of the day, we can all be happy that a package like this exists at all but we also can’t help but wonder why this seemingly straightforward transition hasn’t been made yet. Does GM know something that we don’t and think that people wouldn’t buy an aggressive SUV or is it only a matter of time before we see the Tahoe ZR2 come to life?
I certainly hope it’s the latter!
