New Motorcycle Technology – Honda Riding Assist
Mind. Freakin’. Blown.
At this week’s CES show in Las Vegas, Honda revealed a game changer in the motorcycle world when it debuted its Riding Assist technology. This advanced tech, which applies Honda’s highly advanced robotics technology to motorcycles to create a self-balancing cycle that, apparently, doesn’t fall over. While there isn’t much information available at the moment, it seems likely this technology uses a host of sensors and processors that work together, perhaps with a stabilizing gyroscope, to keep the bike standing upright.
Honda engineers also apparently built in a “follow me” mode, as demonstrated when the motorcycle in the video follows the lab tech around like the coolest puppy ever. This is an amazing leap in riding safety and hopefully will help prevent accidents in the future as it’s implemented into Honda’s line of motorcycles. This could also be used to allow stunt riders do some absolutely mind-blowing tricks, some without even laying a hand on the bike itself.
