Old School AMC Gremlin Commercial Will Make You Question Everything About Today’s Marketing

The way that advertising has evolved is pretty interesting when you take a look at commercials old. I’m not sure if you could say that it’s necessarily for better or for worse but the way that people have tried to sell things to the public has certainly changed a whole lot. In fact, I would be inclined to say that if you consider the advertising climate that we had these days, I think that it’s safe to say that the marketing machines behind these companies have definitely been calmed down a little bit when you look at the final product that they’re putting out with the aim of getting whatever it is that they’re selling in front of the target consumer which is also a lot easier but that’s a whole other article entirely.

This time, we take the opportunity to go back in time, hopping in our time machine and checking out an ad for a car that isn’t even manufactured anymore. In fact, most people probably aren’t really going to have an idea of what this thing is. However, once upon a time, the AMC Gremlin was the latest thing to the market and in order to explain exactly what was new about it and why people should grab their very own version of the car, AMC got a little bit creative with their ideas here. Believe it or not, the concept of such a small car was actually something rather fresh at the time!

If you follow along with the video below, you’ll be able to either walk down memory lane, if you remember the Gremlin, or get your eyes on something that existed years ago but is no longer… except in this situation, where what you’re seeing is brand spanking new, well, kind of.

In turn, it’s kind of crazy to see what companies like AMC thought would be important to customers at the time versus all of the luxuries that we find in even the most basic of cars these days.
