President Trump Could be Attending the Daytona 500 This Weekend

The way that a president travels has to be rather strategic. It’s one of those things that we take for granted as regular citizens. We can just drop what we’re doing and go where we want at any time. It’s certainly no secret, though, that travel plans need to be incredibly secure and calculated for high ranking officials. Due to the nature of the job, the president has a security detail with him at all times. Sometimes, decoys are even put in place to make sure that the most influential person in the world is safe.

With that in mind, nothing is exactly confirmed with the President for this weekend’s Daytona 500. However, several signs point to the idea that President Trump could very well be in attendance. After all, it is “America’s Race.”

We learn from a Fox News report that the Federal Aviation Administration has issued an airspace restriction around Daytona Sunday. Fox seems to be confident that this infers that Trump will be attending the event. In addition, President Trump is scheduled to be staying at his home in Palm Beach this weekend.

The Secret Service took to Twitter, warning people that drone traffic wouldn’t be allowed within 30 miles of the Daytona 500. They tell us that they would be securing the area as a “No drone zone.”

The White House has not officially commented on the matter.

President Trump certainly isn’t new to NASCAR. As with other champions of the highest order, the President welcomed Joey Logano to the White House last year. In the video below, we watch as Logano is honored by the president for his Cup Series win.

Shortly after, he presents President Trump with a couple of tokens of his appreciation including a mini trophy and race used helmet.
