Putting Gasoline Into A Diesel Powered Car – How Often Does It Happen?
If you drive a vehicle powered by a regular old gasoline engine, putting pretty much anything outside of gasoline into the gas tank would have adverse effects, especially if the fluid injected into the tank is diesel fuel. The same goes for gasoline in a diesel powered vehicle’s tank.
Believe it or not, according to this video, that mistake is made hundreds of thousands of times each year and costs millions of dollars to get everything working properly again. How bad is it exactly, if you get confused and put in the wrong fuel, though?
This time, we check out an experiment to find out just that as a diesel car is filled with gasoline and a gasoline powered car is filled up with, you guessed it, diesel, to see exactly what would happen.
Check out the video below from Fifth Gear as these guys find out that the result might not be exactly what you were expecting. Check out the video below to see what that outcome of this test is for these poor engines.
