What makes a good racing simulation?

In order to set up a realistic racing simulator in the home, some might pick up a steering wheel and a set of pedals. It might even include a rig to mount everything on with a racing seat. Beyond that, and a nice sized TV is going to be about the extent of a home setup.

There’s nothing wrong with this sort of thing as a it can provide endless hours of entertainment. It might even give players the opportunity to get the idea of what it would be like to drive some of the world’s most incredible machines.

However, when it comes to professional racing teams, simply getting the idea isn’t enough. Instead, they use simulators as tools to train their drivers. Realistically, it makes a lot more sense to try to perfect something like this than it does to try and go out there and test everything in real life.

With the simulator, all sorts of different conditions can be thrown into the mix. All of this can be done while the driver is able to practice without the need of a crew or without wasting expensive tires. The car won’t take as much of a beating, either!

This time, we follow along with what can be described as a professional level racing simulator. The idea here is to duplicate exactly what a driver feels and perceives behind the wheel. From movement to heat and everything in between, copying reality is the main goal. If done properly, drivers can definitely say that they could gain an edge come race day.
