Richard Rawlings’ Net Worth of $15 Million is Accredited to Gas Monkey Garage
This video is focused around Richard Rawlings and his personal wealth, but actually tells a lot of the story of how Gas Monkey Garage and Fast ‘N Loud came into existence all the way back when Richard and Aaron first started out in the car game.
Richard has amassed a fortune worth around $15 million thanks to the overwhelming success of his shop and his television ventures. The shop itself certainly helped get the ball rolling as far as financial success, but that wasn’t always the case. In fact, Richard had to sell his printing business to keep the doors open at Gas Monkey Garage in the formative years. However, the sacrifices and struggles paid off and the shop has done very well, eventually attracting the attention of Discovery Channel, who came in and launched Fast ’N Loud with the ever-charismatic Richard as the host and builder/fabricator/all around awesome guy Aaron as the co-host.
The show has a bit of a “Tool Time” feel, though Richard is hardly the bumbling idiot that Tim Taylor was. Instead, he is the face of the show and the brand, and the brains behind the operation, while Aaron and the rest of the Gas Monkeys do the work that gets the bills paid on that side of things. Fast ’N Loud has been so successful that there have been two spinoffs created: Demolition Theatre and Misfit Garage both came from the FNL brand. Last season, Aaron departed the Gas Monkey Garage to pursue his own dreams and passions, opening his own shop recently to focus on his passion for Fords F100 pickup.
With eight seasons under his belt at $50,000 an episode, Richard’s wealth has exploded since the show began, allowing him to live a rockstar life that seems to suit him well. Hopefully the success continues for him and the rest of the Gas Monkeys!
