Roush Reveals Its First Take On The 2015 Ford Mustang

Just weeks after we saw what Hennessey and Saleen have in store for the 2015 Ford Mustang, fellow tuner Roush has now revealed its first take on Ford Motor Company’s [NYSE:F] latest muscle car. Roush has a solid history of building fast Mustangs with improved handling and bodywork—and that’s exactly what we have here.

Roush is planning various stages of tune for the car, broken down into familiar RS, RS1, RS2 and RS3 packages, and at present we have details on just the first three of these packages. That’s because the RS3 package will involve the use of a supercharger, so it’s likely additional tuning will be required until it’s ready.

Roush’s RS, RS1 and RS2 packages, meanwhile, will offer a series of enhancements for the respective Mustang V-6, Mustang EcoBoost and Mustang GT models, but without major powertrain upgrades. Yes, power remains at stock levels for now, meaning 435 horsepower for the RS2’s 5.0-liter V-8; 310 hp for the RS1’s 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder; and 300 hp for the RS’s 3.7-liter V-6.

All feature a new body kit dubbed the R7, which was developed based on experience from Roush’s own motorsport program. It includes a new grille and front bumper as well as a trunk lid spoiler and rear diffuser. Buyers can also select several exterior options including side quarter window scoops, body side scoops, a hood scoop and more. Along with the aggressive new look, the RS1 and RS2 packages get a quad-tip performance exhaust system. It’s a modular design that will be able to accept future upgrades, says Roush.

Other upgrades include improved suspension, custom 20-inch wheels and Cooper RS3-S performance tires. Inside the cabin, every Roush Mustang will receive embroidered floor mats and a serialized dash badge. Buyers will be able to add further upgrades such as a custom gauge cluster, Recaro seats and leather trim.

Pricing starts at $4,495 for the RS upgrade, $5,895 for the RS1 upgrade and $8,495 for the RS2 upgrade. All are covered by Roush’s 3-year/36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty.
