Ryan Martin Snags No Prep Kings Championship Amidst Kelley Trans Failure
It’s been a long and grueling year for the folks competing on the No Prep Kings. Season 3 has certainly provided more than its fair share of ups and downs. When it comes to any racing series, getting all the way to the finish can prove to be something of a challenge. Not only competing in nine events but keeping the car together and out of the wall proves to be a challenge. Many competitors can’t even make it to the end of the season, let alone compete.
When it came down to the final race of season 3, Ryan Martin had the race to lose. He was followed up by Kye Kelley and Lizzy Musi. Both competitors could have theoretically reached out and taken Ryan’s lead but it was his to lose. There were a variety of different scenarios that could’ve shaken up the field. The reality of it all had one race determining the season, though.
All of the drama would come to a head in the second round of the finale. At this point, it was win or go home for Kye Kelley. By knocking out Martin and winning the event, he could’ve moved into first place for season 3. However, a loss would hand the victory to Martin and the Fireball Chevrolet Camaro.
The stars did align for a race filled with drama. Unfortunately for Kelley’s camp, his machine wouldn’t be coming in under a full head of steam. As it turned out, a transmission problem would mean that Kelley had to foot brake the Shocker off of the line. That wouldn’t stop him from giving it a shot, though. After all, this was for all the marbles.
By following along with the video below, you’ll check out the race from No Prep Kings Texas with the most on the line. Keeping the racing machine healthy is probably even more difficult than the actual competition. This time, the challenge was too much for Kelley to overcome.
