SEMA is a big deal for everybody in the car biz. It shows the newest trends in the automotive realm and gives us ideas towards our own cars. SEMA 2015 was no different. It was bigger, better and definitely busier. There were days when you couldn’t get through central hall without being being pushed around by a crowd. We tried to take our time and check out every car there. This was rough, but I think we covered everything. After seeing it all, here are Speed Society’s favorite ten vehicles from SEMA 2015. We try not to be biased, but these cars were just hard to stop looking at.

To start this out, here is our #10 pick; the Project FFR Cobra Jet Challenge by TURNology. This car was in the outdoor Toyo display along with many other sick rides. It isn’t hard to figure out why this is one of our picks. Just look at it. The aesthetic aspect of this car is intense. Everybody is attracted to the classic Shelby Cobra design, but these guys took it to another level.

The engine is a naturally-aspirated 312 cubic-inch Coyote V8 that was built to replicate Ford Racing’s Cobra Jet program. It uses a Livernois block, Mahle pistons, InnoV8 billet individual throttle bodies and more to produce 625 horsepower and 462 lb-ft of torque on E85 at 12:1 compression.

The power is sent through a Ford Racing T-56 Transmission to a full-floater Moser 8.8″ rear end with big Baer 6-piston brakes. The front suspension is from Factory Five Racing and came with the Mk IV Roadster kit. It is all built for optimized suspension geometry and includes special upper and lower control arms, a Miata sway bar, Koni shocks, rack-and-pinion steering and 14-inch cross drilled and slotted rotors with Baer 6-piston calipers.

The suspension is supported by lightweight 18″ CCW C18 brushed wheels, measuring 9.5″ wide in the front and 11″ in the rear. They are wrapped in our favorite Toyo Proxes R888 tires measuring 275/35ZR18 front and 315/30ZR18 in the rear.

All of this comes together for a 2,400-pound car that is a beast on any street or track. It looks absolutely sick and stuck out among the slammed and stanced rides surrounding it.
