Nasty Slammed Restomod ’56 Chevy Truck Rips Through Streets of LA
Back in 1956, a pickup truck was a pickup truck. There were no frills and there certainly wasn’t much power. The concept was simple and nobody really bothered to spruce it up for decades. In fact, all the way up until about the 90s, nobody gave a second thought to adding any luxury items or fancy touches to these trucks. Sure, customs probably filled that void a little bit. However, straight out-of-the-box, nothing really all that complicated came to life.
This time, we check out a 1956 Chevy truck that did receive some love. Naturally, this truck is going to be about as basic as somebody can imagine when it begins. However, when it receives a little bit of custom love, it’s anything but. In fact, seeing all of the special touches inside and out could keep a spectator mesmerized for hours.
Inside, we find some modernized components. For example, the digital gauges and custom stereo really bring this old school truck into a new age. From there, we take a dive under the hood where things are certainly much more modern. Powering the beast, we find an LS3 engine making 565 hp. Back in the 50s, personal vehicles making over 500 hp simply didn’t exist. However, this truck seems to be more than fitting for the modification.
By following along with the video below, we get the full tour thanks to the folks over at AutotopiaLA. Perhaps one of the most interesting parts of this build is that it was concocted by someone who doesn’t consider themselves to be a mechanic. Instead, a paint and body guy managed to make this Chevrolet incredibly mint.
Keep your eyes peeled. From top to bottom, this thing has more trick details than we could possibly list. It even features some common components that anyone could purchase on sites like Amazon or eBay.
Long story short, this truck has a little bit of something for everybody!
