Smokey and the Bandit Stunt Recreation Ends in HUGE Crash
To celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the classic film “Smokey and the Bandit” the 2017 Bandit Run was fully re-created, they did the Mulberry Bridge Bandit Jump and other amazing stunts at Atlanta Motor Speedway on June 24, 2017. The original scene was filmed around Jonesboro, GA which is actually 20 minutes away from Atlanta Motor Speedway.
And you know the police were there to make things extra fun!
The event brought all the Bandit lovers and a ton of Trans Ams.
They even went on a cruise full of Bandit Trans Ams… What a sight to see!
Before the Bandit Run wrapped up on Saturday, June 17th, Burt Reynolds and the gang made a stop by Atlanta Motor Speedway to see all the stunts recreated from some of the most iconic scenes.
The footage is courtesy of Dave Hall and Dillon Hardinger of Restore a Muscle Car and The Bandit Run. They held nothing back as they hit the ramp. Luckily the driver was safe but we are sure the car is done for because that was a hard hit. It made for one hell of a video in tribute to the film! We cant wait to see the footage from the camera truck!
Enjoy!
