“Spare Parts” 800+HP Turbo Truck! Chevy Colorado Built Entirely with Leftover Stuff
It doesn’t take an insane budget to build something fast and fun. This time, we check out a Chevrolet Colorado that lives and breathes that formula. Sure, it might have a couple of more expensive parts on it, but at the end of the day, most of this build surrounds a junkyard engine and spare parts from other builds that were left over.
The action presents itself via a BigKleib34 video shot out at Holley LS Fest that puts this boosted truck to the task of tackling the quarter mile and it does so in speedy fashion, managing to slam home a couple of low 10-second passes with ease.
With a concoction of a Borg Warner 475 turbo, Powerglide transmission, Holley intake manifold and a dash of e85 fuel, the truck is able to stir up about 800 hp on the dyno rollers and that’s on a conservative setting. The owner says that we should be on the lookout for him next year when he’ll have new suspension and new engine management with a boost controller this time!
Check out the racing action below and tell us what you think of this junkyard build that most certainly doesn’t look like something that you’d expect to have originated as an old pick up truck. This thing really shines when it comes time to show its true colors.
