Street Outlaws Chuck vs Barry Nicholson at Redemption 7.0
This is what you call an exercise in contrast, quite literally.
Mustang vs Camaro. White vs Black. Turbo vs Nitrous. Small Block vs Big Block. Oklahoma City vs New Orleans.
One thing these two cars do have in common is that they’re quick. That just goes to show that you can have two drastically different combinations and arrive at the same goal. In the far lane is Barry Nicholson’s nitrous-huffing Godfather Camaro. In the near lane we see Chuck Seitsinger’s boosted Death Trap Mustang. Both cars have had some solid success on the no-prep circuit this year, and as we have seen, Chuck has made his way to the top of the 405’s Top Ten List. Yesterday at Redemption 7.0, the pair faced off in a great side-by-side battle.
In this video, posted by National No Prep Racing Association, we see the pair carefully easing toward the starting line at Texas Motorplex. As they pre-stage, you hear Chuck bring the RPM’s up in the Death Trap, then both cars bump into the stage beams. Nicholson goes to the floor and, when the green flashes, away they go! While nitrous cars typically leave harder than turbocharged hotrods, it looks like Chuck hangs a nose on Nicholson through the sixty, then continues to extend that lead through the eighth mile, though Nicholson hardly fell out to the wayside. It’s hard to tell from this angle but the race was close all the way down the track.
Chuck definitely has the Death Trap working well on big tires, finally able to put down all the power his twin turbo small block is making without having to worry so much about losing traction like he did on small tires. Meanwhile, back in the land of cameras and lights, Chuck has a big challenge coming up on Street Outlaws now that Chief has made his way up the list in the new Crow.
