Street Outlaws Daddy Dave $5,000 Grudge Race vs Kye Kelley
At Redemption 6.0 at Tulsa Raceway Park, Street Outlaws stars Kye Kelley and Daddy Dave both showed up with some new pieces on board there respective hotrods. Kye was sporting all new bodywork and a monster Pat Musi powerplant in his just-repaired Shocker Camaro, while Dave had just outfitted his Goliath Chevy II with a ProCharged bullet in place of the former nitrous engine.
The pair lined up and put $5000 on the line to make things interesting, and they both wanted the win – certainly for the money but more for the bragging rights – leading them to have one of the closest races we’ve seen. As nitrous cars typically do, Kye took a sizable lead out of the gate and was still out front as the cars passed the camera man at halftrack, but Daddy Dave’s top end charge proved just enough to drive around Kelley and take the win by what had to be the smallest of margins.
Dave is one of few to outrun Kye on the streets, taking a close win over the Shocker back when he was driving Jackie’s Sonoma, and now he’s got a win against him on the track too. Something tells us that Kye won’t take that lying down, though, so expect these two to line up again sooner than later!
