The 180 MPH 1969 Dodge Daytona: “Project Angrier”
Dodge’s Charger Daytona was one of the fastest, most powerful, and rarest muscle cars ever built, so what does a hotrodder do when he wants to put his spin on the Daytona?
Instead of chopping up one of the fewer-than-500 known Daytona’s, you build a very accurate replica from a “regular” Charger, then you tweak it to your liking. The result is Mike Musto’s “ANGRIER”, a sinister matte black Daytona duplicate that is built not only to be fast, but also to be drivable on long trips, a compromise that few classic muscle cars can pull off.
With a 471″ powerplant under the expansive hood and over 500 ponies on tap, this car easily checks the “Fast” box. Then Mike added creature comforts like air conditioning and cruise control to make the car comfortable to drive for hours, making it a legitimate road-trip candidate.
