The Classic Rental Car Hustle and How to Avoid It
If you’re someone who travels regularly, you probably are pretty familiar with the idea that the expenses that go alongside traveling can tend to rack up pretty quickly. Not only do you need to pay to get out there through a flight but also, you’re going to need to think about where you’re going to stay in a hotel and how you’re going to get around when you make your way to your destination. In some areas, you might be able to grab a taxi or Uber but sometimes, in the less populated areas, you might have to pick up your very own rental car which definitely has its benefits but also comes with its fair share of challenges and then some, depending on your experience and what company you choose to rent through.
Now, according to Rob Ferretti, if you stick with some of the bigger rental companies, you might not have that much of an issue. Heck, sometimes, the smaller rental companies will even work harder to make sure that you are happy with their business so they can continue to grow, however, not all rental companies are created equal as he warns us that some of those smaller budget companies that you look to when trying to save a couple of bucks might just come with a hassle that’s worth spending the extra money to avoid, especially if you place a high value on your time.
If you follow along in the video below, you get a perspective from Rob that tells all about the good old-fashioned bait and switch, a practice that probably isn’t exactly legal but apparently rental car companies take part in it all the time so that they can keep business rolling. In addition, you might not only find yourself out the car that you thought you were renting but also paying more fees than you had even expected in the first place. After sinking your teeth into this one, be sure to tell us what your experience has been with rental car companies like these.
