The Final Days Of Stevie Fast’s “Shadow” Part 5

Episode five of RAW3 TV’s look inside the final voyage in The Shadow doesn’t have a single second of on-track action, but provides possibly the most raw footage ever captured of legendary wheelman Steve Jackson. We learned earlier in the series that Stevie’s beloved dog, Dyno, had gone missing from his home while Jackson was testing for No Mercy at South Georgia Motorsports Park. Stevie had already claimed if Hurricane Matthew shut down the racing action for a day he was going home to help search for his pup, so when it became obvious the weather was moving in, Jackson made good on that promise and hustled home to look for Dyno.

You can watch the video to get the details, but be warned, it doesn’t end well. There’s something deeply emotional about a man’s connection with a dog, especially one that’s been his constant companion for fifteen years, so it’s no surprise that the loss of his friend hits Jackson hard. Seeing such a jovial, if somewhat impenetrable, Stevie Fast brought to tears is a stark reminder than even the baddest of badasses – and we all know Stevie is way up that list – is still human.
