The Real Life Cost of Maintaining a Garage with a 16 Car and 14 Bike Collection
Should someone ask a gearhead, most of us have a comprehensive list stashed somewhere in our heads that we have saved for a rainy day. On this list, we have the cars that we’ve dreamt up for the day that we eventually hit it big! If we’re being honest, most of us have that money spent before it even hits the bank. However, when it comes to picking up a large collection of cars, the purchase price isn’t the only factor to be considered. Instead, there’s a lot of maintenance and repairs that need to be done to keep the fleet in tip-top shape. We would like to imagine that it would be all fun and games as we marauded around in our dream cars but for someone who struggles to keep up with the oil changes on one car, maybe there should be some second thoughts before diving in head first.
Sure, having the likes of a collection of Harry from the Harry’s Garage YouTube channel, one that is highlighted with the likes of 30 vehicles, 14 of which are cars and 16 bikes, sounds like a great time. In this one, though, Harry gives us the down and dirty. He takes the time to describe what sorts of vehicles he has and some of the challenges that might go aside owning such a large fleet. After all, it’s not too difficult to see how this hobby could take a sharp turn in the direction of a full-time job in a matter of no time at all.
By following along in the video below, there’s a lot to be learned as Harry tells about the wins and losses that he’s endured in keeping up such a substantial collection. He even goes so far as to tell us why certain parts of said collection just had to go. We would be so inclined to say that, while owning so many machines could be fun, it also doubles as something that’s certainly a labor of love.
