This Adventure Rig Has a Crane, a Shop, and May Survive the End of Times
As a part of an ever-growing trend, we have been seeing school buses re-purposed like never before. In a prior life, these buses probably would have just sat in the junkyard, waiting for parts to be salvaged from them for a new project. However, these days, school buses that might be a little bit past their prime have been brought back to life in many ways including transforming them into mobile living quarters.
When somebody wants to live in a bus, let’s just say that they have to get a little bit creative. Sure, fitting a bed inside might be the easy part but finding a way to accommodate all the other parts of life is what might be a little bit more of a challenge. How would we do things like shower, cook, or even sit down for a bit of R&R? These simple pleasures become much more complicated if you’re expected to live inside of a bus!
In this particular situation, we check in with the individual who wanted to do a little bit more than even having living quarters inside of a school bus. Instead, he attests to the fact that he wanted to create a space that was incredibly flexible to justify its build price. Therefore, this rig would have to be a truck when it needed to be a truck, a camper when the need arises, and a space where its owner could live in it, when necessary.
While the school bus conversion isn’t necessarily anything new, we would say that this particular ride packs in a couple of features that you’re not going to want to miss if living on the road is something for you. By following along with the video below from the Mobile Dwellings / Gilligan Phantom YouTube channel, we get to see all of the neat features that have been packed into this custom build.
