This Is Impressive! Boeing 787 Dreamliner Extreme Climb Takeoff
This is not something you’re going to see down at your local airport. Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner is powered by a pair of massive turbine engines capable of creating 70,000 pounds of thrust… each. With that much power on tap, the Dreamliner, which was built to be lighter than any other plane of it’s size, is capable of pulling off this insane launch climb.
Watch below as the pilot pulls the plane very nearly vertical upon takeoff, climbing straight up seemingly effortlessly. While the 787 would rarely use this maneuver with passengers on board, knowing it has enough thrust to climb vertically like this should give the passengers some reassurance that the plane won’t stall if the pilot does have to make an extreme vertical climb for some reason. The engineers at Boeing have certainly put their degrees to good use on this jetliner, as it’s quickly become one of the most popular among air travelers.
