This Might Be One of the Sickest Dodge Cummins Out There!

As the evolution of diesel performance continues, it’s great to see video of these trucks popping up giving us a great look at just how ridiculously quick they are on the drag strip. The clip below features one of the quickest trucks we’ve seen laying it down at San Antonio Raceway in south Texas.

Details about the build are nonexistent other than knowing by looking at it and seeing that it’s a Dodge Ram. There’s a quick glimpse under the hood at the beginning, where the valve cover bears that traditional Cummins C logo, so the powerplant hasn’t been swapped, though the massive Borg Warner turbo and custom blue piping give a pretty good indicator that there’s been a lot of work done to the engine.

That assumption is completely bolstered by the truck’s performance on the track. You can see from the first run that even with the scoreboards turned off, this truck is laying down a ton of power, and putting it down very effectively. There’s no spinning or any other drama, just hooking and booking.

The second pass, the scoreboards are lit and we know exactly how quick the truck covers the 1/8th mile. With the cloud of black smoke clearing up as soon as the truck launches, the massive white beast roars to a solid 6.54 elapsed time at 115 MPH. As impressive as that is, there’s more left in the tune up, but the middle digit of the next run is blocked by a trackside pole. It’s still a 6.something at what looks to be 114 MPH, so it’s right on pace with the previous run.

Finally, the tuner cranks the truck up to the gas for the last race, and despite losing at the finish line to the wicked Ford in the other lane, the truck rips of a wicked 6.11 elapsed time at 125 MPH, finding nearly a half second and 10 MPH over the earlier passes.
