Top 20 Myths That Stumped the MythBusters
As far as television shows go, the iconic MythBusters stuck around for a rather long time. For 15 years from 2003 to 2018, the show’s hosts, Adam and Jamie, would test out every single myth that they could get their hands on. Whether it was a deeply ingrained part of pop culture or some myth tucked deep away in the less-traveled corners of the internet, these guys attempted to see if these stories were nothing short of a tall tale or if some of the crazy things that we hear are actually real.
As it turns out, busting myths can actually be a pretty complicated job. Testing out some of the world’s oldest stories isn’t always going to be a straightforward venture and could require a little bit of engineering and some bravery as well. From time to time, dealing with things like fire and lots of moving parts can end up getting downright dangerous as we saw plenty of times on the show.
This time, the idea is to pick out 20 of the top myths that seemed to stump our hosts over at MythBusters. According to this top 20 video from WatchMojo.com, what we’re looking at here is what happened with the tests that didn’t quite work out or designs that fell a little bit short of solving the riddle at hand.
Some of the highlights here include seeing if real-life bulls in a china shop are actually destructive, figuring out the relationship between cell phones and gas stations as it applies to fire, and even the old airplane rolling on a conveyor belt quandry. In the video below, we go behind the scenes with some of these myths, learning a little bit more than maybe the show even told us as we get to see some of the more complicated and confusing projects of MythBusters.
