Trick with a Paracord Shows How to Remove Stuck Oil Filter
When it comes to getting the job done right, sometimes, the easiest jobs can be the most frustrating if they’re not going your way. Sure, you might also get frustrated when the difficult jobs pop up here and there but if it’s something that’s supposed to be able to happen in, say 20 minutes, and ends up taking an hour, you can see where the frustration could start to build. I think that every once in a while, we all sometimes get a little bit angrier than we would like to admit when working on our cars in just about any capacity.
A perfect example of this might be doing an oil change on your car and not having it go your way. An oil change is pretty much the simplest thing that anybody could do to their vehicle and doesn’t take any kind of knowledge to be able to accomplish, however, sometimes, things might happen to get a little bit stuck up. For example, at times, it can be pretty difficult to get your oil filter off and you might have to break out some tools to get it done. If you don’t happen to have a filter wrench on hand, you can see how it might be a little bit more difficult to be able to get the filter loose without making a complete mess.
If you check out the video below, you’ll be able to tun into a demonstration of how exactly you could take that stuck filter, if you don’t have an oil filter wrench, and remove it using nothing more than a length of paracord, essentially tying a sort of slip knot to grab on tight to the filter and give yourself a little bit of leverage to help make it come loose. Just remember, the next time that you head out to do your filter change, make sure that you tighten that filter back on by hand because otherwise, you’re just making it more difficult for yourself the next time you head out to change the oil.
