Up For Sale: Collins Bros Shows Off Pristine Barn Find in ’78 K5 Blazer
There’s nothing quite like one of your favorite old-school rides that have maintained its original sheen. Over the years, naturally, for the vast majority of cars and trucks, they end up meeting mother nature and losing. At the end of the day, combating things like oxidation and sun damage is something that’s difficult to overcome. However, every once in a while, there’s a machine that has been maintained in pristine condition and we can’t help but fall in love all over again.
This time, we check in with a model that is definitely on the rise once again. At one point in time not too long ago, the likes of a K5 Chevrolet Blazer were something that wouldn’t have brought too much money. These things were actually pretty cheap. However, as the trends have shifted, the K5 has become a relatively sought-after model.
Naturally, as with any other vehicle, the better shape and more original one of these things, the more money it’s going to be worth it and the cooler it’s going to be, frankly.
When we see that Dennis Collins has his hands on a machine, we know that it’s going to fit into this category nicely. For this trick, he pulls out a 1978 Chevrolet K5 Blazer Cheyenne 4×4. Collins says he got the barn find from the auction site, Bring a Trailer, and it was purchased from the truck’s second owner.
As it turns out, the owner was willed this truck and had kept it in absolutely spectacular condition. Most of what you see is how the truck originally came from the factory with minor things like mudflaps added to avoid chips in the paint. At the end of the day, you’re not going to find an old-school ride in much better original condition than this! It certainly is a joy to take a look at especially with a guided tour from Collins himself.
