’65 Corvette Carcass Pulled From the Desert, Transformed to LS7 Powered Widebody BEAST

There’s really something special about old-school muscle cars. Certainly, we all have our specific tastes but for the group that appreciates the old muscle machines, they find that these cars just have that quality that can reach out and touch all of the pleasure centers in the brain. There’s just something about the mixture of the look, feel, and sound that these cars make that can make someone hop out of bed in the morning, full of excitement to go for a drive. Some might think I’m weird but I think that old-school muscle machines might even have a specific smell sometimes that really makes the dopamine fly.

However, as time has gone on, these old-school rides certainly haven’t lived up to the expectations of performance. It’s really one of those things where we just have to recognize that a car might be great for its time period. In the scheme of time, though, the evolving performance market is bound to always override what was most potent 50 years ago.

There is hope for these cars, though, and the owners who choose to add a little bit more performance to the mix.

This time, we catch up with a 1965 Chevrolet Corvette. Back in its day it was a bad machine but today, this particular example is a new kind of bad machine.

I think it’s very safe to say that this build started out in a pretty rough shape. While some individuals who are building a car might want a running and maybe even driving the vehicle to start from, this creation was nothing short of a carcass. The remnants of what used to be a second-generation Corvette were sitting in the desert for decades. However, when the right enthusiast came along, the machine would receive a wide variety of modifications including a modified factory frame, widened body, and C4 suspension to bring the C2 into the modern era. Last but not least, we can’t forget the naturally aspirated LS7 engine similar to what one might find in a sixth-generation Z06 Corvette. Some even call this the greatest LS engine ever built.
