Wicked Street Launches on a Built Yamaha Banshee (0-60 in 1 Second!)
The equation to being the fastest in a drag race can get rather complicated. This is pretty evident by the countless hours and thousands of dollars that people will throw at being the fastest.
However, while there are lots of ways to get there and many minor tweaks to make, the overarching concepts remain the same. Going fast in a straight line is pretty much a matter of three things. Those things are power, weight, and traction. Get the best of all three of these categories and you’re well on your way to dominating the competition.
While most of the time, when we think about drag racing, most probably resort their thoughts to cars of some sort. However, there are lots of ways to get down against the competition in a straight line. Some prefer trucks, others like bikes, and we have seen drag racing in all sorts of other odd fashions as well.
This time, though, we check out something that might be a little bit wilder to lay eyes on. Instead of the previously mentioned common combinations, this time, we check out a monster of an ATV that’s ready to drag race just about anybody. In fact, when we talk about the three main factors to going fast in a drag race, this one has several of them on point.
First and foremost, obviously, it’s going to be incredibly lightweight. This is a huge advantage as it skews the rest of the equation in the ATV’s advantage.
When that lightweight nature is combined with the fat tires on the back, traction seems to come pretty easily to this machine as well.
Lastly, when combined with 150 hp, it’s a concoction that’s hard to beat. At the end of the day, that might not seem like a ton of power and in the scheme of things, it’s really not. However, when considering the format, the power to weight ratio definitely plays in this rig’s favor.
By following along with the video below from That Racing Channel, we get to check in with a wild Yamaha Banshee that is absolutely on a mission.
