How to Fix Those Crusty Old Headlights Once and for All!

In the year 2020, if we look back a couple of decades ago, we would think that it’s safe to say that there were a lot of people who probably thought that we would’ve realistically had flying cars by now. While automotive technology has been advancing rapidly, we haven’t quite gotten to the point where we all have our own personal aviation just yet. In fact, there are some issues that linger from decades ago that are much simpler than getting a car to fly and we haven’t even figured out how to get to the bottom of these simple issues just yet.

One of the issues that seem to plague automotive owners of both foreign and domestic automobiles is headlight haziness. It doesn’t seem to matter what the make or model of the vehicle, almost every car and truck out there on the road these days is going to react in a certain way to the sun. Some are a little bit more resilient than others but every single vehicle suffers from battling UV damage as it spends the majority of its life outside.

One of the most obvious areas that is impacted by this UV damage would be the headlights. Time and time again, we see all sorts of different vehicles that have headlights that look like they’ve seen better days. As the UV rays penetrate the lights, it can make them get foggy and even change color. One day a lens might be crystal clear and the next, it could be blurry and yellowing.

This time, we check in with a tutorial that aims at restoring headlights of all different shapes and sizes, once and for all. With a couple of simple steps here from Paint Society, ideally, someone can restore their headlight housings and never look back. We would’ve thought that this would be an issue that would’ve been pretty well sorted out by 2020. However, if you find that your car hasn’t quite figured out a way to handle those UV rays, perhaps this handy method could serve to help.
