If there’s one thing that a racing collector knows, it’s that Dale Earnhardt’s cars almost never leave Richard Childress Racing. Instead, most of them have remained in the collection ever since Dale’s passing. In other words, it would take a pretty special person to remove one of these machines from its home.

This time, though, we get to see one situation where one Dale car ends up finding its way into the hands of some special people to the Childress and Earnhardt family.

Over on the Realtree Road Trips trips channel, we tune in with the story of Tyler Jordan and his dad, Bill, the founder of Realtree. From the get-go, we’re told that Tyler is getting married and as his father is his best man, he wanted to hook him up with an awesome groomsmen gift.

Tyler said that his dad is one of the best friends of Richard Childress and was a great friend of Dale Earnhardt as well. Therefore, he reached out to see if Childress had anything belonging to Earnhardt that he could spare for Tyler to give to his dad on his special day.

Expecting that maybe he would be lucky enough to snag something like a helmet or a racing suit, he got an entirely different gift. Childress insisted that Tyler take one of Dale Earnhardt’s cars to give to his father. From there, he would hand over the incredible machine to his dad, creating a seriously emotional moment.
