ABANDONED Hauler WITH DRAG CAR INSIDE, CLOSED Drag STRIP

Unfortunately, it seems as if more and more drag strips have been forced to close their doors over the last couple of years. As support for the sport dwindles and different challenges arise that make it tougher for drag strips to operate with simplicity, we have seen a variety of tracks in America and abroad forced to go out of business.

This time is certainly no different as we check in with a YouTube creator by the name of IMSTOKZE  who heads to what he calls a very famous drag strip. After being operated under a variety of names, the strip in question became Shakespeare County Raceway in 2008. However, in 2017, plans to build homes on the site of the race track would eventually overcome the need for speed as the track closed its doors.

One of the fascinating things about what remains of this particular race track is that it wasn’t exactly cleared all the way out before it was abandoned. Instead, there is a ton of equipment left behind, not only from the operations of the facility but also other odds and ends along with vehicles as well.

As it turns out, there were a surprising number of cars that had simply been left behind. However, it was one hauler, in particular, that really seemed to draw the most attention from our host and for good reason. In addition to being a pretty neat rig to travel around the country and from track to track, this particular race hauler had a race car still inside of it. It truly looks like this thing was used one day and had just been left behind to be reclaimed by mother nature the next, which most certainly creates a pretty crazy scene.

By checking in with the video below, we get to take quite an interesting tour of an abandoned facility that has a number of surprises lurking around just about every corner.
