Could Electric Vehicles and Solar Panels Create Real Life Perpetual Motion?
With the emergence of electric vehicles, we see a lot of new concepts coming into play. For example, a lot of people are interested in the aspect of these vehicles that goes toward helping the environment.
Making sure that the Earth is still here for future generations is important but you’re not fooling us. We know that for the vast majority of people who buy these things, their main intent is to save money. At the end of the day, it’s going to be a ton cheaper over the lifespan of a vehicle like a Tesla to charge it than it will be with just about anything else to go fill it with gas.
The thing is, with charging, there are even more complications that can come into play. For example, one of the most asked questions about this sort of vehicle pertains to the battery range. Is it going to prove to be a hassle to have to deal with a car that can’t get where you need to go or will driving around in an electric vehicle be something that we don’t even think twice about it because it’s so easy?
As of now, it seems as if things might be a bit of a hassle for those looking to eek out more range. However, the smart minds behind these vehicles are constantly thinking of new ways to improve them and take them into the future.
One way that we may potentially see electric vehicles making the most of all available energy is by incorporating solar panels into their design to take advantage of the sun’s free energy. After all, there are plenty of applications in which the sun creates energy to power things like homes.
Why couldn’t it be fit to power our cars as well?
As of right now, it doesn’t seem as if solar panel technology is quite advanced enough to harness enough energy without the panels taking up a massive amount of space. In other words, covering the roof of your car isn’t going to be enough to charge it entirely.
