Ford Issues Letter to Texan Dealerships to Lend Out F-150s as Built-in Generators Save Lives
Ford strikes again.
It seems like recently, Ford has really stepped up its game when it comes to serving the community. Whether it has been in helping to build ventilators for hospitals to serve COVID-19 patients or donating masks, Ford seems to have the clear priority of helping those who need it most.
In recent news, the automaker would issue a letter to dealerships in Texas, urging the dealers to loan out their trucks to those who need them to generate a source of power. The new Ford F-150 comes with a built-in generator that might come in handy for a variety of reasons. One could use the power source to plug in most of what they would typically plugin at home – from microwaves to space heaters and everything in between. Those who do have the onboard generator have found it to be of great use during the recent chaos that has been unfolding in Texas as they get pelted with dangerous winter weather.
These recent storms have leveled all sorts of things from plumbing to power and people have been in dire need of a little bit of help to source life basics. In order to make ends meet while the infrastructure is being rebuilt, the generators on board these sorts of trucks have definitely come in handy. One man by the name of Randy Jones has been using his F-150 to do everything from charge cell phones to make coffee in the morning. He’s also used it to keep the heat on.
After seeing such utility come and use here, it definitely makes us feel like a generator is really a handy thing to have on board of a pickup truck, even if you’re not going to use it every day. At the end of the day, you really never know when it could happen to come in handy and maybe even save a life.
