Hennessey Gets Insane, Swaps 1000 hp Hellcat Engine Into Tricked Out Gladiator
As for performance enthusiasts, it can be very easy to let the mind run wild. There’s just something about the thought of all the different high-performance possibilities in our heads that can really have a way of speaking to us. Thankfully, there are a lot of people out there in the community who have the follow-through and the ability to make some of these amazing combinations come to life.
One of the most recent models on the chopping block for the folks over at Hennessey Performance is the Jeep Gladiator. The pickup truck came on the market a couple of years ago and has been receiving modifications ever since. However, as it is a Jeep and does follow in the footsteps of models like the Wrangler, many of those modifications have come in the form of off-road friendly setups. In other words, we’re talking about big tires, beefy suspensions, and everything else that gives a helping hand to travel to places that most others don’t.
This time, we check in with a Jeep that does have that off-road functionality. However, that’s definitely not the main attraction as this particular Gladiator offers so much more.
In the “Maximus 1000,” we get an incredibly special package for those who want to go fast. Under the hood of this bad boy, we find the likes of the very popular Hellcat application found in a variety of Mopar machines. While all of these brands under the FCA umbrella including Jeep, Ram, and Dodge have stuck Hellcat engines in their vehicles, the concept hasn’t quite made it to the Gladiator just yet. This is where a brand like Hennessey steps in and provides the service that we’ve all been waiting for. In addition, the 707 hp engine is upgraded a bit because why not make it an even 1000 hp?
By following along with the video below, we get to ride along with the people who helped to build and tune this monster as it gets its final kinks worked out before being handed off to the customer. These machines definitely have a way of leaving jaws on the floor.
