Koenigsegg Just Dropped a Tiny Electric Motor That Makes MASSIVE Power, Plug And Play 335hp/443 lbtq

At this point in the timeline, it seems pretty inevitable that electric motors will be a big part of our automotive future. It’s not quite clear if this is the five-year future, 10-year future, or beyond. We’re also not sure if it’ll work with combustion or replace it but it is apparent that electric vehicles will stick around and most likely take bigger parts of the market share in the automotive world over at least the next couple of years.

With that, it seems like just about every manufacturer has it on their to-do list to build some of their very own electric propulsion technology. When we say “everybody,” we mean absolutely everybody including high-end supercar manufacturers.

With that, Koenigsegg decided to get in on the action, and naturally, they did so in a big way.

With a recent release in the “Quark,” we would see the supercar builder come up with a pretty impressive package. Even though the engine is small, weighing in at just 63 pounds, the numbers that it produces are rather large.

It’s important to remember that EV tech is still relatively new to the mainstream. The longer that smart people have to develop it and the more money invested, we will see smaller and smaller motors cranking out larger and larger power figures.

For the Quark, this relatively tiny motor creates 333 hp along with 486 pound-feet of torque. The motor unveiled on the last day of January 2022 is said to be planned to be used in future Koenigsegg models as well as licensed out to other companies interested in using the technology.

In order to obtain such a powerful package from such a small housing, the company made use of aerospace spec steel NS carbon fiber parts using the same processes that Koenigsegg uses to create its wheels.
