ZL1 Swapped 1993 Silverado is a 10-Second Monster Sleeper!
If there’s one thing in the performance community that can really pique our interest, it’s an interesting engine swap. There are lots of options out there and because of that, we would venture to think that there will always be a creative new idea to be found. Even if it comes in the details, some of these ideas are really worth taking a look at.
This time, we check in with a machine that is certainly incredible to witness. To say that 5th generation Chevrolet V8 power has never been put into an old school pickup truck would be a lie. However, we aren’t sure that there is another machine quite like the 1993 Chevrolet Silverado owned by the one and only Stangkilr Productions.
Not only does this thing look great, but it’s also cranking out some great reliable power as well. It’s certainly far beyond where Chevrolet ever saw this truck being when it rolled off the assembly line back in 1993.
However, with a vision and a good dose of talent, Justin Keith was able to take this originally slow but clean single cab and bring it into the new era. By yanking the powertrain out of his Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 when it was getting an upgrade and slapping it into this short-bed pickup, we have a combination that is certainly going to turn heads wherever it goes.
In this particular video, though, the goal is to show that the truck doesn’t only turn heads for looks. Instead, it’s built to impress the drag strip as well. In the video below, we tune in with a track session that has this old-school Chevy knocking home a couple of impressive quarter-mile passes. As the machine manages to maintain its presence in the 10-second range, the list of things that’s awesome about this single cab just continues to pile up!
