Chevy Tahoe SS Trim Could be on the Way in 2023

When it comes to the performance SUV, at least on the General Motors front, it kind of feels like the concept had been forgotten about for quite some time. After offering up fan favorites like the LS2 powered Trailblazer SS and even the GMC Typhoon of the early 90s, GM really went quiet on the performance front with these family haulers. However, recent speculation has opened up discussions about the possibility of Chevrolet releasing a Tahoe SS.

Now, I know what you’re probably thinking.

There is always a lot of talk about these sorts of wild machines coming to life. However, very little of it ever follows through. Really, anybody could say anything and if it catches enough of a viral wind on the internet, some might be tricked into thinking that it will become a reality but in all likelihood, most probably never will.

Now, even though I’m pretty cynical whenever I personally see news like this, this particular rumor seems to be one that’s based in solid logic that could very well follow through. Really, all it takes is a little bit of connecting the dots that are already there to get to something like the Tahoe SS.

If we trace back a month or so ago, most probably would have written off the rumor of a 2023 Tahoe SS coming to life. However, with the recent announcement that there will be a very real performance version of the Cadillac Escalade dubbed the “Escalade V,” it all makes all too much sense that there would also be a variation of the vehicle that presents itself in Tahoe trim. After all, the difference between a Tahoe and an Escalade are pretty minuscule when we get to the nuts and bolts. Why not bring a sporty model with a potent power plant under the hood to the Tahoe as well?

By following along with the video below, Brian Mello brings us all of the details about the potential drop of a 2023 Tahoe SS. When push comes to shove and all of the speculation is actually reality, would you be interested in a Tahoe SS?
