Checking Out Chevy Chick’s 1973 LSX Camaro Pro Touring Build

If we asked every car enthusiast about what their ultimate pro touring street machine looks like, there would probably be a plethora of different answers. At the end of the day, there’s not one particular set of modifications that is going to make a car perfect for the street machine for everybody. However, if we ask Laura aka “Chevy Chick,” her answer resides in a second-gen Camaro that is most certainly going to turn some heads as well as lay down some impressive results.

This time, we check out a 1973 Chevrolet Camaro that has most certainly been given a little bit of an upgrade over its original form to become a car with plenty of power but also one that retains incredible drivability as well.

One of the first things that we notice about this car that was designed in a pro touring style is that the 1973 Camaro borrows the front clip from a 1971 car. The idea here is to give it that split bumper look that has become so sought after in the Camaro community for second-generation cars.

Another way that this rig has been spiced up is through the help of an LSX 454 cubic inch crate motor. While the engine remains relatively untouched, the naturally aspirated application is good for around 600 or so horsepower. That’s certainly enough to send a chill down your spine when you stop that throttle but not so much to the point where you’re going to have to be maintaining it because you break something every time that you go wide open. At the end of the day, the car is basically making boost power without boost problems!
