2023 Silverado Package to Deliver More Horsepower Than Ram TRX and Ford Raptor R, (800hp Monster)

When it comes to the world of automotive manufacturing, we can’t help but love a little bit of peer pressure doing its job. For quite a period of time, Ford’s Raptor was the only game in town for a factory performance pickup truck. The truck packed Ford’s EcoBoost V6 which, for all intents and purposes, was a good combination but not what enthusiasts were begging for. Instead, a large contingent of performance fans kept on asking for Ford to release the truck with some variation of its V8 architecture.

Eventually, Ram Trucks would introduce to the market the 700+ supercharged horsepower Ram TRX and before we knew it, the Ford Raptor R was born, offering up a comparable power output to the TRX. Maybe Ford would’ve gotten there on their own but we would wager that the pressure from the competition helped to at least speed things up a little bit.

With that said, enthusiasts then turned their attention to General Motors. Back in the day, it was absolutely amazing to watch Chevrolet, Ford, and Dodge duke it out to create the best muscle car possible. Of course, with a new muscle truck battle brewing, it was only a matter of time before Chevrolet jumped into the mix. Right?

…Right?

Well, not exactly.

Fast forward a bit and as of now performance truck enthusiasts who want to drive something with a bowtie on the front can go to their local Chevrolet dealership and purchase an 800 hp monster. However, in order to create such a monster, the work has been outsourced to a company by the name of Specialty Vehicle Engineering. This is the same company that currently owns the Yenko brand and is still cranking out high-performance rides, available only at GM dealers.

This time, we ride along with Brian Mello who gives us the rundown on the 2023 Yenko Silverado that comes with both 700 hp and 800 hp options thanks to a supercharged 5.3L or 6.2L V8. In the video below, we learn about one of the most powerful trucks on the street that can be hard with a warranty.
