1967 Mustang in a Swamp! – Will it Start 28 Years Later?

Deep down inside, there’s this feeling that many car enthusiasts get when they stumble upon a classic that has been sitting in the weeds, just waiting to be brought back to life. For many of the mechanically inclined among us, this is a very unique kind of excitement as we can visualize the possibilities of what these projects could potentially turn into.

Now, with an idea like this, the hope is that you’re going to come into a car that’s in pretty good shape. This is why most prefer to start with project cars that are from desert areas or from the south somewhere where road salt isn’t an issue. These machines have a higher probability of being in good condition when you really begin to dig into them and see how intact everything is.

This time, though, we join in with Derek Bieri from Vice Grip Garage for an episode of “Roadworthy Rescues” that seems to take on a car that hasn’t quite been sitting in the most desirable conditions. Instead, this 1967 Ford Mustang has been living life in a swamp for about 28 years. While these aren’t exactly the ideal circumstances and the car might be a little bit rough around the edges, it is an original owner machine which means that there is hope here.

Those who have watched Bieri in action likely know that the idea is to take this machine and breathe new life into it once again. He certainly isn’t a stranger to a challenge and this Mustang just feels like a car that’s going to throw the book at him.
