Old vs New Chevrolet Suburban – Which is Better?

The past 20 years have been incredibly fruitful as far as technological advancement goes. I think that it’s safe to say that technology at the turn of the century in the early 2000s was nowhere near what we can experience today in 2022 from cell phones to cars and everything in between.

However, whether or not this technological advancement is necessary or for the better in some cases is definitely something that’s up for debate. There are certainly areas where all the new tech can be nice to have but sometimes, the simplicity of something basic can really get the job done as well.

This time, with the help of The Fast Lane Car‘s “Old vs New” series, we take a look at a couple examples of the Chevrolet Suburban from over the years to demonstrate.

In one corner, we find a practically new 2022 Chevrolet Suburban High Country. For those who don’t speak Chevy, the High Country model is the creme de la creme when it comes to Chevrolet products. Not only will it have all the finest materials that the brand offers on board but it will also have all of the bells and whistles that one can ask for.

In the other corner, we find old trusty, a 2001 model year Suburban that recently turned 21 years old and has nearly 300,000 miles on the clock. As the truck has needed no more than minimal repairs over the past two decades, we think that most would agree that it has been very reliable over the years and has served its owner well.

With the video below, we get to see just how far one nameplate has come and entertain a little bit of a discussion about if this advancement is for the better. Depending on what one looks for out of their truck, it seems like these two vehicles offer some different strokes for different folks with pros and cons to owning each.
