New Buick Skylark V8 – Would You Buy One?
When watching at names like the Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger drop off of the docket in the coming years, we can’t help but wonder if we are currently alive to witness the end of the muscle car as we know it. In the coming years, a number of the name plates known for high performance from the big three automakers are due to fade into obscurity. However, if designers around the internet have anything to say about it, there are going to be some awesome muscular designs floating around for quite some time.
This time, we check in with a design originally posted by Hotcars.com that pays homage to the original Buick Skylark. Back in its day, the Skylark was most certainly one of the cars to have and it’s one of those nameplates that we wouldn’t hate to see make another run. The design takes what we knew to be the best of the Skylark and fuses it with a modern muscle vibe. The result is something that comes together quite nicely and is incredibly eye-catching.
Although unlikely, the machine looks like the perfect candidate to take over where the Chevrolet Camaro architecture, inheriting the 6.2 L V8 under the hood.
This time, we join in with YouTube creator, Brian Mello, as he dives into the design, dissecting the influence and the visual elements that the machine brings to life.
When push comes to shove, something like this seems unlikely to ever hit the assembly line. However, never say never because it seems as if major automakers really enjoy reviving historic nameplates. Whether or not it will have a V8 under the hood, though, it’s probably the more prevalent question as it feels like the industry has been well on their way to eliminating anything that’s fun to drive for a while now. Only time will tell but, in one form or another, we wouldn’t mind seeing a Skylark design like this rolling around in the streets.
