College Kid Creates the Ultimate School Bus Camper Conversion That Doubles as Toy Hauler
At the end of the day, we truly believe that there is a tow rig that’s perfect for just about anybody. As it turns out, lots of people have many different needs than the average consumer and these needs are far beyond finding something comfortable they can take long road trips. While some folks are OK with simply having a towing machine that’s comfortable and gets good gas mileage, others ask their vehicles to go above and beyond.
For example, if somebody plays with Jeeps on the weekends, they might want a rig that can pull their toy along as well. In addition, perhaps the individual might ask their tow rig to be able to provide a place to sleep for a short period of time. Who doesn’t love a little weekend adventure?
This time, we check in with a retired school bus that brings all of that together and then some. What started off as a 20-year-old school bus has since been transformed into something else entirely. The bus obviously no longer hauls around children but instead has been converted into a flatbed with an oversized cab to accommodate those who might want to take a weekend getaway.
By following along with the video below from the folks at New Jersey Outdoor Adventures, we check in with the bus-powered by a Caterpillar diesel 3126 engine with an automatic Allison transmission. Not only does this bus seem to be functional and comfortable with tons of amenities. It also seems to serve as the ultimate getaway machine for those who enjoy a little bit of motorsports action. Heck, you don’t even need to bring a trailer along as the person behind the wheel of this bad boy will be able to roll their fun having a machine right up on the back!
