Drivers Risk Their Trucks at Circle Track “Spectator Drags”

In my humble opinion, one of the riskiest undertakings that one can hop in their vehicle and partake in would be the spectator drags. For those unfamiliar, this event is basically a circle track race that drivers bring their own vehicles to and have at it.

We aren’t talking about purpose belt racing machines, either. Instead, this event will frequently host rides that people likely drove to the drag strip and might even end up driving to work the next day as well.

This time, we check in with a section of a spectator drags it features pickup trucks. There are a wide variety of trucks here, some even a little bit newer, that drivers were ready to pin the throttle on and have the time of their lives.

However, the crazy thing about the spectator drags is that you never know what’s going to happen. While going up against a competitor who might not have any experience, just about anything could go down. After beating someone into the turn, you never know when the opponent is going to get a little bit overzealous, thinking they can make up that ground before slamming right into the side of your truck. A collision that totaled one of these vehicles wouldn’t be the first of its kind when it comes to spectator drags, that’s for sure.

By following along with the video below, we check in with the best of pickup trucks from the July 2021 rendition of spectator drags from Beech Ridge Day of Destruction. This is definitely one simple way to get an adrenaline rush if you already have a vehicle at your disposal to use. We certainly think it’s fun watching so participating must be an absolute blast.

After checking out this collection of trucks, be sure to tell us if you would be ready to throw your ride at the fire like that. Personally, I’m not sure that I could trust competitors to avoid slamming into the side of my truck.
