Dude Thought he Bought an Electric Supercar From China but THIS is What he Got!
The concept of someone getting ripped off online is certainly nothing new. There are underhanded people lurking around with all sorts of schemes on the internet that are just looking to take money away without providing much of anything in return. Fortunately, there are many tools that we can use to make sure that these folks are held accountable for their actions. However, there are still some situations that fall through the cracks and manage to take money that isn’t theirs.
This time, we tune in with the story of a YouTube creator who got caught up with someone who claims to be an electric supercar producer. All in all, our host, Nick, spent $31,000 on what he thought was an electric-powered supercar that looked pretty cool in the pictures. However, as the seller stopped communicating the second that the package was sent, there were definitely some bad vibes to be felt here.
When the car showed up, we can see exactly why the seller stopped answering emails.
After picking the package up from the local port and paying $8000 in custom fees to bring the total to nearly $40,000, let’s just say that our host was just a little bit disappointed. Immediately, upon seeing the crate and the size of it, he knew that he had probably been swindled or some big mistake was made.
As the car ended up being about the size of a golf cart and looking more like a Smart Car than the supercar from the ad, obviously, this wasn’t the vehicle that Nick had originally been sold on.
After Nick created several viral videos about the experience, the seller did end up reaching back out and telling him that he would refund most of the money in exchange for the videos being taken down. However, Nick refused to comply with what he considered to be blackmail and the seller threatened to hire a hacker to take down the channel. That seems to be about where the story ended.
