Ford Offers Police a Faster Pickup Than Civilians Can Get (Look Out For This on Craigslist!)
When it comes to police vehicles, sometimes, they can end up getting some pretty awesome equipment. It has even become a thing to purchase retired police vehicles and put them to use as enthusiast grade cars. For example, in America, the Chevrolet Caprice was a model exclusively available to police a couple of years ago. Since then, fans of the LS engine have taken on The Caprice PPV and molded it into their perfect car. The cool part is that usually, these police cars can be had at a bargain compared to what one might spend on comparable models.
This time, we check in with the latest and greatest in police vehicle technology as offered up by Ford. It’s noteworthy that law enforcement has been making use of pickup trucks more frequently as of late and there’s a new F-150 just for them!
At the end of the day, this one might be a pretty cool vehicle to look out for on the secondhand market in a couple of years. The Ford F-150 Police Responder is a truck that has been designed especially for law enforcement. In fact, there are even some features on board that civilians cannot order in their own F-150.
One of these features just so happens to be 120 mph top speed with the crew cab short bed built atop the completely redesigned 2021 F-150. Under the hood of the truck, we find the 3.5 L twin turbo V6 that creates 400 hp and 500 pound-feet of torque as shifted through a 10-speed automatic transmission.
There are also a plethora of other features on board that make this truck special beyond what one can buy in a civilian version. In order to explain exactly what it is that makes this pickup so special, the folks over at The Fast Lane have taken the time to break it down and explain exactly what comes with this truck that sets it apart from the pack.
