Hennessey Performance is Turning New GT500s Into 1000 HP Monsters
The folks at Hennessey Performance truly do have an awesome job. Not only do they get to play with the latest and greatest in terms of brand new performance machines. They also get to have all of the fun doing R&D before eventually coming up with a way to take these already powerful cars and trucks and turn them into even more powerful machines built for streets and tracks across the world.
Don’t get me wrong, I know that it’s a ton of work to develop performance packages like this but it just seems like a dream job as well!
One of the recent toys that the folks at Hennessey got their hands on was the most recent Shelby GT500. The GT500 has always been a fan favorite and the most recent rendition makes 760 horsepower right out of the box. However, with their eyes on the prize, Hennessey would, of course, take it upon themselves to turn up that volume knob just a little bit, taking that 760 horsepower and turning it into even more. When all was said and done, the finished product would be dubbed the “Venom 1000” creating 1000 hp just like its namesake.
By following along with the video below, we get an up-close and personal view of what exactly a 1000 hp GT500 looks and sounds like. In the video, we take a ride with Hennessey’s Director of R&D, Jason Haynes. In the footage, Haynes shows us what exactly it is that makes this GT500 Hennessey Venom 1000 come to life. This is definitely a video that Hennessey recommends cranking up the speakers for and we would tend to agree. I’m not sure that there are very many 1000 hp monsters that sound bad but this is definitely one that sounds great as it’s a treat for the eyes and ears alike!
