New Home Builder Denies Responsibility for 2 Car Garage That Won’t Fit 2 Cars, Barely Fits 1
In the world of new home builders, picking out just the right company to put together the place that you’ll be spending the majority of your time can be a little bit of a struggle. Let’s just say that we have definitely heard a wide variety of horror stories about all sorts of different builders. Picking just the right one certainly requires a little bit of research and a little bit of luck as well. Otherwise, a new home could quickly turn from a dream to a nightmare.
The stories range from incomplete projects all the way to homes left with errors that one simply wouldn’t expect with brand new construction.
We get that nobody is perfect and mistakes do happen. However, the mark of a truly good home builder isn’t just how nice the house is. It’s also just how well they execute upon the warranty that comes with the home. Is the builder going to come out and correct things that just aren’t right?
Well, for one homeowner in Georgia, they certainly thought that their issue was big enough to fall under the warranty. As it turns out, when pulling vehicles into the garage of the brand new home, a garage that promises to be wide enough for two cars, only one vehicle would fit. The issue comes as the builder decided to mount the water heaters in one of the garage stalls which doesn’t allow most vehicles to fit length-wise.
When the Kendall family reached out to Dan Ryan Builders about their Hampton, Georgia home, the warranty claim was denied. The recommended remedy was for the homebuyers to take it upon themselves to go out and buy a tankless water heater that would allow the cars to fit properly.
After a little bit of pressure from a local news station, the latest on the situation is that the builders will reevaluate the situation to see if there’s anything that they could possibly do.
