Recovering a Yacht Tender Like James Bond – This is How You Know You’re Mega Rich
Being rich is really a subjective deal. Those who daydream about being rich might allow their vision to kind of blend together all wealthy people to make it seem as if they’re in the same boat. The matter of fact, though, is that this couldn’t be further from the truth. Instead, not only are all wealthy people not in the same boat but some of these wealthy people have boats inside of their boats.
This time, we check in with a yachting lifestyle choice that is known as the “tender.” Basically, a tender is a smaller boat that a yacht owner can use to go from place to place when they are docked. As it turns out, maneuvering a 100-foot boat around is something that isn’t exactly easy. Therefore, the ultra-rich can purchase another vessel to get to whatever shopping or restaurants they see fit. Many times, these tenders will come with a price tag that still supersedes most common boat owners’ pride and joy.
With this particular footage, we check in with a tender recovery operation that takes on a James Bond-esque style. As is par for the course with a tender, it needs to be loaded on the main ship in one way or another… but how?
In this particular situation, the “how?” is answered by is basically a trailer frame mounted to the floor of the yacht. The whole thing is attached to a system of hydraulics that allows for it to be lowered into the water and for the boat to be raised up as well.
Not only that but another set of hydraulics will pull the vessel into the back of the yacht for safe storage as it travels from place to place. All-in-all, it’s just another day in the life of the super-wealthy.
