Small Boat Gets Owned by a Yacht in Choppy Haulover Inlet Conditions
For those who aren’t acquainted with Haulover Inlet just yet, welcome to the chaos!
This channel of water that leads from the bay to the Atlantic Ocean is definitely one that can be a little bit tumultuous. In an inlet, it’s pretty common for the water to observe fast-moving currents and rough waves. Because of this, boaters should come prepared and ready to take on some choppy conditions for just a little bit. It also might be a good idea to bring a sizable boat as some smaller boats might be pretty difficult if not downright near impossible to guide through the area on a rough day. Throw in the fact that there are massive yachts making their way through the inlet and things can get even more complicated in a small vessel.
For those who still don’t have a clear picture, this time, we check in with a video from Wavy Boats that attempts to show what we’re talking about. In this one, a variety of boaters noticed that the conditions were rather intense. In particular, one boater in a smaller vessel ends up in quite a predicament.
As the vessel makes its way out, the person behind the controls is in for a surprise as a yacht is heading in the opposite direction. At this point, it’s too late to turn back and the captain has to do everything that he can in order to guide this ship to safety. It’s easier said than done when you have a massive wake coming toward you!
By following along with the video below, we get to see how this clash ends up turning out. Let’s just say that when you’re out in raging water like this and said water is splashing up over the sides of your vessel, it can definitely be a pretty intense time.
