This 1200HP 4×4 Street Truck Will Put Most Cars to Shame
There are a lot of platforms that can be built out there to go fast. From the tried and true to the more obscure, there are lots of different combinations that can get down the strip or the street in a hurry. Up until more recent years, one of the variants that have been slept on was the pickup truck. Not a lot of people thought about the single cab truck when it came to building something to get down and win a couple of races. However, these days, you need to be careful when you pull up next to that old work truck.
Let me tell you though, when a pickup truck is built to go, it can definitely be a sight to be seen. With something like a regular cab short bed Chevrolet Silverado, there is certainly a lot of potential just waiting to be tapped into. Not only are they relatively lightweight but they’re built to be beaten on. The example that we find this time even has four-wheel-drive to be able to help gain traction and get as much of that power to the ground as possible
In this particular case, we check in with the Silverado that has a 427 CI Dart engine at its heart. In order to spice things up even further, we find a single 98 mm turbo that’s creating about 20 to 25 psi of boost. When all said and done, the machine will pump out about 1200 hp. From there, a built 4L80e will be able to get the power to the ground. However much ends up making it to the tires to be able to hold that power might vary. Sometimes, the truck doesn’t exactly launch without a bit of a smoke show! It’s ok though because we love four-wheel burnouts.
This time, the crew from That Racing Channel gives us the opportunity to get up close and personal with this incredible build. There’s just something about a well-executed truck that we can’t help but fall in love with.
